If you wanted to change the original asset, you rendered and exported the asset again. Multiple rendered and exported versions of an asset consume disk space, and they can lead to file-management challenges. Dynamic Link offers an alternative to this workflow. Creating a dynamic link is as simple as importing any other type of asset.
Dynamically linked assets appear with unique icons and label colors to help you identify them. Dynamic links are saved in projects generated by these applications. You can replace selected clips in Adobe Premiere Pro with a dynamically linked After Effects composition based on those clips.
The new composition inherits the sequence settings from Adobe Premiere Pro. After Effects then creates a project and composition with the dimensions, pixel aspect ratio, frame rate, and audio sample rate of the originating project. If After Effects is already running, it creates a composition in the current project.
The new composition name is based on the Adobe Premiere Pro project name, followed by Linked Comp [x]. In the version of Premiere Pro, you can import compositions using Media Browser. See the following sections in Premiere Pro for more information:.
Note: When you create a dynamically linked After Effects composition, the composition duration is set to 30 seconds. Click the Basic tab, and specify a new value for Duration. For best results, match composition settings such as dimensions, pixel aspect ratio, and frame rate to the settings in the Adobe Premiere Pro. Choose an After Effects project file. Then choose a composition in the displayed dialog box and click OK. If the After Effects project file contains multiple compositions, the Import Composition dialog box opens.
Once the composition is open in After Effects, you can change the composition without having to use the Edit Original command again. Change the composition in After Effects. Verified Purchase. Being fairly new to After Effects I really needed a training resource that would start at ground zero but not speak to me like I was a 2nd grader. This DVD delivers in fantastic fashion. It covers all the bases and is structured in such a way that one can navigate through the course sequentially or view particular areas of interest individually.
There are plenty of work files if you desire to follow along. Though not completely necessary, I did find it helpful use the work files to create a more hands-on experience. If you have two monitors you’ll love having the course on one monitor while you work along on the second monitor.
I can’t imagine anyone being more knowledgeable about the capabilities and use of After Effects than these two except perhaps Andrew Kramer from Videocopilot. Both of them were easy to follow, though I must admit that Angie’s video lessons were a bit more engaging. Speaking of the content, they cover all the important basics and then some. With this DVD as my foundation, I now have a much better understanding of the more advanced techniques discussed in the various tutorials I find online youtube, vimeo, videopilot.
The 10 hours of training on this DVD create the ideal jumping off point for anyone looking to become proficient with After Effects. If it’s anything like this After Effects course, it’ll be worth the investment.
One person found this helpful. AE6 is a complicated piece of software, and even “basics” require a LOT of setup. Given that, Angie Taylor and Todd Kopriva are genial and often engaging trainers for this high-power creation beast. Both have been actively involved in using AE since the early version, and they are both knowledgeable about the “innards” and uses of this modern-production mainstay.
The reference ciips are thorough and useful, and I highly recommend this course. My son and I have been watching this diligently, and are disappointed. Either Adobe After Effects is not useful at all, or this video does not show what After Effects is really useful for. The videos seem to lack pedagogical ability. They delve into details, but a logical thread is missing.
We are still wondering why bother with After Effects. We have yet to see what worthwhile product might come out of it. I find that free youtube videos, although sometimes hard to understand because of the accents, do a comparatively decent job of showing what After Effects really is for and how to use it, in laymen terms. From this video, I conclude that After Effects is apparently not at all made for quality animation, but rather seems to be an incredibly complicated editing program with very limited usefulness and questionable results.
Very good video for beginners. Very good video tutorials! Just perfect! Everything is explained in details! Would recommend to everybody who wishes to learn AE CS6 from the scratch! It was a great idea if you want to learn something, but the downloadable files wouldn’t download and no one could help me out with it so I eventually had to send it back.
Excellent content, I almost finish the whole course, it has to many lessons and explained step by step so clear. I so satisfied with this product. I have started working through the lessons, it’s well laid out and easy to follow. For best results, match sequence settings and project settings in Adobe Premiere Pro such as dimensions, pixel aspect ratio, and frame rate to those settings in the After Effects project. Choose an Adobe Premiere Pro project, and then choose one or more sequences.
A linked clip can refer to a complex source composition. Actions you perform on the source composition require additional processing time depending on the complexity. After Effects applies the actions and make the final data available to Adobe Premiere Pro using the global performance cache and the persistent disk cache features.
These features improve the After Effects performance by using the cached frames when Premiere Pro requests the frames. If you commonly work with complex source compositions, increase your RAM or upgrade to a faster processor. See Improve performance by optimizing memory, cache, and multiprocessing settings. To encode After Effects compositions, you must add the item to the encoding queue in Adobe Media Encoder, and then select encoding presets or create your own custom settings for rendering.
In After Effects, you can add a composition to Media Encoder queue using one of the following options:. When you add a composition or project to Adobe Media Encoder queue, After Effects launches Adobe Media Encoder with the compositions listed in the queue.
