For hybrid material you can specify an externally deinterlaced source which is nice also, so if tfm detects a frame to be interlaced it will use that instead. I haven’t seen any material that has added duplicated frames instead of speeding the material up from film speed but technically is is possible so you would want to remove those with tdecimate and tfm can flag those for removal I’m only guessing the flagging works with PAL material.

Yes it does. For telecined NTSC, TFM does all the shuffling, dropping and duplication of fields and de-interlacing if need be , and sends whole frames to TDecimate for duplicate removal.
For progressive PAL sources with shifted fields it’s usually quite safe to disable TFM’s de-interlacing as I’d assume they’re shifted by the same amount from beginning to end so there shouldn’t be any de-interlacing required.
When a PAL source appears to be interlaced but I think it should be progressive, I’m in the habit of disabling TFMs de-interlacing for testing anyway, so then if the combing disappears I know it must be the result of field matching and I won’t be fooled into thinking it’s not interlaced when it is. It must be a while since I’ve encoded a PAL source with phase shifted fields, but I was reading through the VideoHelp thread I linked to for a memory refresh, and it reminded me I’ve used jagabo’s suggestion from post 7 for outputting progressive frames successfully, no TFM required, because generally the fields will be phase shifted from beginning to end.

I’ve been encoding several files in MeGUI , with x codec, using preset Slow, and ticking the “show advanced settings” checkbox to change ME method from hex to uneven multihex and “adaptive b-frames” to 2 Optimal the default option for x’s slow preset now is 1 fast , but in fact the default option in MeGUI is 2.
The thing is I want to use –b-adapt 2 but even when I set it in the GUI, the command line is: program –preset slow –tune film –crf Thank you very much. But I do not know what is causing it I tried several Blu-ray files and it does work as intended. So the problem likely is somewhere else.
Could you maybe upload an encoding log if it is added there? Have you already tried to reset the profile to default? It’s not anymore. During closing of MeGUI the well formed log file will be written. As you wrote MeGUI is not adding anything related to –b-adapt as it is the default. Yes, I have. After few seconds it asks for decoder, I select File Indexer. Than the fatal error occur. In this case, the mpls refers to.. To start the task also works. But I wonder if it is a wanted behavior? There are mpls which refer to multiple m2ts files. But maybe I want pick out only one m2ts file and not a whole playlist.
How I do now? In my opinion, to chose a playlist makes sense when I chose a mpls file which currently doesn’t work for me. Thanks, issue found. A fix however may not be available before the weekend. Intended was that if you abort the playlist selection window that then the originally selected file will be used e.
This does not work as intended currently and will be included in the fix. I just updated automatically with latest development server built, and I’m not comfortable with latest changes especially the disparition of the DSSource, and the more annoying new File Indexer tool, which uses mpls file instead of just the m2ts file, which doubles the indexing time. How could I go back to the latest version that has the old File Indexer?

In One Click Encoder, after you select a file as input, if you are editing the name field of an audio track before hitting “Queue” , and you misspell something and press backspace key to edit, that audio track is removed.

Thanks a lot. Is it possible to remove this warning from logs? Sadly not by myself as I do not have the time to do that. The default MeGUI language has been selected instead. Sometimes the “qaa” track is the original language, sometimes is the same “Spanish” dup.
BTW other spanish TV’s put “v. You are right the guides become updated quickly, and is a big effort try to maintain a MeGUI guide with so many options. I wil therefore not add that. Switching to the portable build.
And that is also a good catch. Didn’t say this but I already tried that, even I never needed this call before the update. I think that is the question. I uninstall and reinstall AviSynth 2. Next step will be a MeGUI reinstall from scratch.
