Use the vector tools in Pixelmator Pro to add shapes and text to your image, then arrange them into eye-catching logos, icons, layouts, and other designs with the help of the Arrange tool. Choose from the available pre-made shapes or draw some of your own. For more info and step-by-step instructions, see About layers or About shapes and vector. In the Pixelmator Pro toolbar, choose + > Shape > Ellipse and draw an ellipse over the ear. Select both layers in the Layers sidebar, Control ⌃ ‑click them and choose Subtract Shapes. For simple round shapes, like the head, it’s easiest to also use a basic ellipse shape. Draw another ellipse, then move it below the hair layer. The Move Tool, Layers, Blending modes, and Liquify tools are used in this tutorial. Before you begin, download the Background, Polar Bear, Mountains Background, and Ice Background images to create exactly the same effect, but feel free to use your own photos, too. Step 1. Open the Background Image in Pixelmator.
